Logo Design Fees in Malaysia: What Should You Budget?

Brand Identity Design For F&B

A logo can appear on everything you sell: the box a customer opens, the sign above your door, the website they visit before deciding to trust you. Choosing who creates it deserves more thought than comparing the last line of a quotation.

But how much should you invest? Start with the business you are building, the decisions you need help making and the assets you actually need to launch. A useful budget follows a clear scope.

What are you paying for?

Two proposals can both say “logo design” and cover very different work. One may include a single mark. Another may include research, positioning, a creative direction, multiple logo formats, colours, typography and guidance for using the identity.

That difference matters when your brand moves from a presentation into everyday use. A logo that looks good on a laptop still needs to work on small labels, social profiles, signage and print.

  • Strategy: clarity about your audience, personality and what your business should communicate.
  • Design development: the thinking, exploration and refinement behind a distinctive identity.
  • A usable logo suite: agreed versions for different sizes, backgrounds and applications.
  • A visual system: colours and typography that give the logo a consistent setting.
  • Handover: practical files and guidelines so your team can use the work confidently.

Why logo design fees vary in Malaysia

There is no single price that describes every designer or project. Experience, research depth, deliverables, usage requirements and the time needed to solve the brief all affect a quotation. A price list without its scope tells you very little.

A first-time founder launching one product has different needs from an established business refreshing packaging across a product line. Comparing those projects as if they were identical can make a good quotation look expensive and an incomplete quotation look attractive.

Undoubt Studio’s current branding prices

Our packages start at RM15,000 and extend to RM45,000. These are branding packages: the investment includes the strategy and identity deliverables listed below, rather than a standalone logo alone. Prices are shown in Malaysian ringgit.

Final scope, schedule, currency and payment terms are confirmed in your proposal. Typography licences are additional.

Which level makes sense for your business?

Launch Kit is the starting point when you need a clear identity foundation: strategy, a logo suite, colours, typography, a business card template and basic guidelines. It suits a focused launch with a smaller set of applications.

Identity System is useful when customers meet your brand in more places. It adds up to eight agreed collateral items, packaging for one product and more detailed guidelines.

Full Brand Suite covers a broader rollout: up to 15 collateral items, packaging for up to five products, a company profile and a social media kit, alongside the strategy and visual system.

Choose according to what your next stage requires. Buying the largest package only makes sense if you will use the deliverables. If you need a website, extra products or additional creative work, we confirm that scope separately.

Five questions to ask before accepting a proposal

  1. What will I receive? Ask for named deliverables, formats and a clear definition of each application.
  2. What informs the design? Understand how the studio turns your business goals into a creative direction.
  3. How does feedback work? Confirm the concept and refinement allowance before work begins.
  4. What is additional? Check font licences, production, extra revisions, website work and other third-party costs.
  5. What does the schedule depend on? Ask when you need to provide information and approvals.

Budget for the rollout too

Design fees are one part of launching a brand. Allow for the things that bring the identity into use: printing, packaging production, signage, photography, website development and marketing. Confirm which items are included in your proposal and which need separate budgets.

For Undoubt projects, typography licences are additional. One considered design concept and one round of minor refinements are included; extra concepts or a change in creative direction are additional work, quoted before proceeding. The final proposal confirms scope, payment terms and schedule.

Start with a brief, then a clear proposal

The most useful question is: “What do we need our brand to do next?” Tell us about your business, audience, deliverables and intended launch. We will review the brief and prepare a proposal around the work you need.

Compare our branding packages, explore our previous work, or send your project brief.
